Fan/Light control from PC
Though this has nothing to do with robotics, it surely involves some serious(simple) electronics & programming!
Idea for this project was in my mind for very long & i don't think anyone would've done this project with Autohotkey!
Anyway, this is a necessity for me, honestly i'm a super lazy person 8) & i don't like getting up to switch on fan/light even though the switches are just 3 footsteps away! From that laziness came this idea! Controlling the fan/light from my PC/laptop!
I don't know whether there exist any other way to do this more easily!
Requirements:
-> Aruduino (any flavor will do)
-> L293D Motor driver IC (one IC can drive 2 relays simultaneously)
-> Relays (i've used 7A/250V ones, with solenoid rating 12v)
-> Connecting wires

My Setup
The system can be expanded to run on any config & can even be used to create an entire home automation system based on just AHK & Arduino! I've already made a WiFi version of the same & now working on an Android app :)
